Numbers. It’s All About The Numbers
At the end of the day, business is more about science than art. And at the beginning of the day, it's the numbers that count.

Client No. 1
So, I’m meeting with one of my clients and he asks whether he should continue a particular marketing campaign or not. They’ve brought the 'creative', the collateral, for critique.
Client No. 2
Fast-forward two days and I'm in another meeting where an opportunity has arisen for one client to reposition himself fundamentally within his marketplace. BUT it requires them to put his prices up.
I'll spare the detail on both of these examples.
Where would you start in supporting these two business owners? Maybe you’d begin with how to improve the wording and design on the marketing piece for client No. 1, or plenty of robust support for how client No. 2 should be brave and bite the bullet re: their prices.
But would you start with the numbers? (not many do!)
Fundamentally, business is more about science than art.
At the end of the day it's the numbers that count.
And at the beginning of the day it’s the numbers that count.
So, you'd better learn how to count.
In both of these cases, the correct decision was easy to establish once you looked at the numbers.
There are families living diminished lives because the business owner doesn't do Business Maths.
Are you one of them? Bonkers.
It's the language of business – the numbers – and unless or until you're willing to put in the effort to learn how to read and interpret the right financial statements and numbers, you really shouldn't be in business.
